Yoga Therapy for Chronic Pain Sufferers with Amy, RYT-200
When: Sunday, March 14, 2010 Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm Fee: $40, (Members receive 10% discount) Description: All yoga involves self-awareness—awareness of body, breath, mind, and heart. Yoga therapy is a process of enhancing self-awareness and self-care. Calling all chronic pain sufferers! (Fibro, arthritis, M.S., cancer-associated pain, etc.) The goal of this workshop is to teach you healing alignment and breathing patterns that can lead to freedom from chronic physical pain. Amy and you will explore and experience the power of using the body as a vehicle for accessing healing connections between the heart, mind and spirit. Using guided meditation, assisted yoga poses with dialogue which invites and supports exploration in the present moment, and connecting with your inner wisdom, you will leave with a greater understanding of your body and will embark on the path toward pain-free living!

Kandis will show you how to build your yoga practice to a solid yoga foundation. Gain the tools to learn about your body, knowing when to push yourself and when to pull back; discover your unique strengths, modifications and limits. Learn fundamental asanas (yoga poses) that serve as a springboard to an integrated yoga practice. Learn how breath can serve as the blueprint to your life. This class is perfect for anyone that is new to yoga!
