Maegan Stringfield- Yogini Jaya has been involved with dance and yoga for over a decade. Spending most of her child hood and teenage years dancing, yoga was always incorporated in her life.
Maegan found herself involved in all kinds of sports and activities while growing up. She took an extensive sports therapy training program while at college and learned the practice of Pilates and how to sculpt the body.
Maegan then took a break from dancing while attending college to become a nurse. She decided to move back to Fresno to continue her education at California State University of Fresno to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Although Maegan wanted to give ballet another shot, she came to the realization that ballet was just too destructive on her body. She found herself trying to reach out for something more, and found it again in her yoga practice. It was then that she found Chaz Russ.
Chaz brought back the feelings that Maegan had while dancing. She realized that she could put her own flare into her yoga practice and teaching style. Chaz helped her gain the confidence and spirit to become a yoga instructor and to show people how much fun yoga and life can really be.
Chaz and Maegan have become friends while building a stronger relationship in their yoga practices. Maegan was awarded her yoga name, Yogini Jaya, by Chaz; Jaya means victorious promoter of life. She will be grateful for the rest of her life for this gift.
Maegan will be a registered yoga instructor of 500 hours with in the next 6 months. Currently she is continuing her education at The Village Yoga Center in Modesto, California. Her favorite things about teaching yoga is that she gets to incorporate her excitement about life and let people know that it’s okay to have fun...thinking of nothing but having a blissful experience that will last a lifetime.
