Lymph Massage Boosts Your Immunity

Boosting your immunity is your best bet for a healthy winter.  One effective way to do this is with lymph massage--a non-invasive type of bodywork that boosts the immune system.  Lymph massage gently stimulates the hundreds of lymph nodes throughout the body, thereby flushing all toxins from your system.  This form of massage can also increase white blood cell count, resulting in a stronger and healthier immune system.  Why not boost your immune system the all-natural way?

A Massage That's Barely There (not just for cancer survivors!)

The body gets a "wake up call" through delicate means with a lymph massage. Lymph massage is extremely gentle and slow, mostly by necessity; " most of the lymphatic vessels just below the skin are stimulated by .5 to .8 ounces of pressue per square inch." Light, slow pressure mimics the pulse and rhythm of the lymphatic system. This makes the vessels respond as they should.  Each stroke slightly moves the skin in the direction of the lymphatic flow to encourage the drainage of fluids and icky waste. Although this massage is associated with a therapy beneficial to cancer survivors, it is clear it could benefit everyone.

The Lymphatic System

The lymphatic flow can stagnate for many reasons such as swelling, chronic inflammation, lack of physical activity, stress, fatigue, emotional shock, age, poorly fitted brassieres or brassieres worn for an excessive amount of time. When lymphatic circulation slows down, the regeneration of cells becomes less effective. This condition causes toxins and proteins to accumulate around the cells, causing cellular oxygenation to decrease and tissue regeneration to diminish.

Stagnating fluid, toxins and wastes are drained through the flow of lymph. During its passage through lymphatic nodes, the body generates production of more lymphocyes to reinforce immune response. This accelerates contact with helpful antibodies and the reduction of foreign substances.

Melanie Fries Bio:

The greatest joy in my life is helping others. I have been a deep tissue specialist for the past 8 years and added lymphatic drainage massage as a specialty 3 years ago.  It is touching to see how cancer patients are comforted with lymphatic drainage as well as people who just want an immune boost.

I've enjoyed working for 4 different chiropractors in the Fresno area and Copper River Country Club.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you feel your best! After all, that's what we strive for, isn't it?
